[dropcap]P[/dropcap]INEAPPLE Queen 2014 title was bagged by K Prisila while Adhikarimayum Sangeeta and Sushila Thiyam were declared 1st and 2nd runner-up respectively during a beauty pageant held at Sendra, Moirang in Manipur’s Bishnupur district on Saturday night. The beauty contest was held under the aegis of Manipur Pineapple Festival Committee.
Altogether contestants 22 contestants took part in the beauty contest which was scrutinised by five judges including film star Guna and Editor of Naharolgi Thoudang Khoirom Loyalakpa.Five sub-title holders of the contest were also given prizes.
The new Pineapple Queen 2014 title holder K Prisila went home richer with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 while Sangeeta and Sushila won Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. The organising committee also awarded Rs 60,000 to the first prize winner of the pineapple show held as part of the pineapple festival. Tangkhul folk singer Rewben Mashangva along with many artistes also performed during beauty pageant.
