Fans of Korean Pop, or K-Pop, can finally heave a sigh of relief as the most anticipated event of the Hornbill International Music Festival, the concert by Korean singers Mont (for ‘Members of the National Team’) neared with the group landing in Dimapur on Monday.
The members of Mont are 22-year old Narachan (team leader), 23-year old Bitsaeon (main vocalist) and the youngest 20-year old Roda (rapper).
No sooner did Mont landed at the Dimapur airport escorted by security, the band members were received with screams of excitement and cheer by adoring fans in school uniforms making sure to get a glimpse and pictures of the singers. Reacting to this reception by fans at the airport, the band members addressed media persons at 'Meet the Press' at The Loft in Dimapur. They said "the experience was emotional” and expressed excitement at having met “friendly people".
The band will be taking to the stage on Tue. Dec. 4 at the Agri Expo in Dimapur. This will be Mont's first concert in India. The band has lots of surprises for their fans on Tuesday. They will be singing a few songs that haven't been released. Roda, the rapper of the group, has a special stage where he will be playing guitar.
Mont will be debuting in 2019 but have taken the chance at the Hornbill International Music Festival 2018 and Nagaland as their pre-debut stage. The members expressed excitement to be performing in Nagaland. They said, "We want to perform where our fans are and where our fans want us to perform."
"Although we are just three-member band unlike other K-Pop bands, we have the same energy, unique charm and strong vocals. We will be performing for about an hour or more including Korean and English songs and we hope to see a lot of not only Mont fans but K-Pop fans and experience lots of love on Tuesday," the members hoped.
The members said to have prepared a lot before coming to India and expect to experience a happy crowd at the Agri Expo. Tickets to the K-Pop night with Mont will be available at the venue.
