DIMAPUR — Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M Scindia, arrived in Dimapur on Thursday for a three-day visit to Nagaland, during which he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several MDoNER projects.
Speaking to media personnel at Dimapur Airport, Scindia expressed delight at returning to a state he said embodies remarkable diversity, talent and potential.
He said that it was a privilege to be part of the Hornbill Festival, which he described as a true reflection of Nagaland’s rich heritage, cultural identity and promise.
Highlighting the Centre’s commitment to the region, he stated that the prime minister remains steadfast in ensuring comprehensive development and progress for the Northeast.
According to him, the “Act East, Act Fast, Act First” policy has significantly accelerated growth in the region, pointing out that 10% of the gross budgetary support outlay—amounting to over a lakh crore per annum—is being channelled to the Northeast, enabling multiple developmental projects that have helped unleash the region’s potential.
