Five NSCN (K) members, suspected to be involved in the June 4 ambush in Manipur, have been captured “by the combined efforts of all units under HQ IGAR(S),” according to a press release received here today.
It went on to state that search for the remaining killers is the prime focus of all units. “It is assured that the deaths of the men for the country will not go waste and these killers will be followed till they are caught,” the statement said.
After the June 4 ambush, according to the statement, special teams were to investigate the incident “and they found crucial evidences.” They worked meticulously and went into complete details and were able to establish identities of the culprits,” it stated.
“Post the identification work, massive search has been launched leading to apprehension of another member of the ambush team of NSCN-K named Mayanglangbam Manglemba alias Touthing Ngangba of NSCN-K at Pallel in an Operation of 20 AR in Tuisimi village on 19 July.
Based on his information, the Intelligence teams of Indian Army further maintained the hunt for the remaining members of the ambush team. The next dedication to the martyred soldiers was in the form of apprehension of SS Cpl Chingkhiurei Gangmei who was apprehended at Tamenglong by team of 6 Dogra on August 4,” it informed. The massive search has been the prime focus of all units under HQ IGAR(S) and 12 BIHAR Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles established a vehicle check post in general area Utlou based on information of movement of one NSCN (K) cadre on 19 August, the statement said.
“This vehicle check post team apprehended another member of the ambush team No 3252 (Batch No 32), SS Pte Giftson, aged 22 years, S/o M Ibomcha, resident of Waloagai Kaachin, District Thoubal. He revealed that he was involved in the ambush against 6 DOGRA Regiment in Paraolon village on 04 June 2015 and gave some further information about movement of his fellow team members.”
“Another NSCN (K) cadre involved in Aug 04 ambush in Parlon village against 6 DOGRA Regiment was apprehended by troops of the 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) from the area of Kakching Lamkhai on 19 August. The apprehendee was identified as No 4538, SS Sgt, H Bojesh Monsang, aged 24 years, resident of village- Zaphou, District – Chandel.”
It informed that all the arrested persons have been handed over to NIA for investigation.
