EMN DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 3 THE Fourteenth Finance Commission of India will be in Nagaland from October 4 to the 6th and make recommendations regarding fund requirements of the state of Nagaland for the period 2015- 2020 which will be effective from 1st April 2015. “They shall review the state of finances, deficit and debt levels of the state keeping in view, in particular, the fiscal consolidation road map recommended by the Thirteenth Finance Commission’ in a government communiqué received on Thursday. The 16 member, Fourteenth Finance Commission visiting Nagaland is led by the chairman of the commission Dr. Yaga Venugopal Reddy. He is being accompanied by members Prof. Abhijit Sen, Sushama Nath, Dr. M. Govinda Rao, Dr. Sudipto Mundle and Ajay Narayan Jha. They will be accompanied by five cenatral officials namely the Joint Secretary VS Senthil, Joint Secretary MS Bhatia, Economic Advisor Pinaki Chakraborty, Director Naresh Mohan Jha, and Director & OSD to Chairman Deepak Narain. An advance team of 5 additional officials reached Kohima on Thursday. The Commission is scheduled to meet with the Chief Minister and the officials of the State on 5th October 2013. They will also interact with representatives of rural and urban local bodies, trade, industry and commerce, Tribal Hohos and political parties of the State on 6th October 2013.
