JUK denounces assault on member

DIMAPUR — The Jakhama Union Kohima (JUK) has vehemently denounced the physical assault meted to one of its members and the president of All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Union (ANHTU), Kohima unit, Vizothal Zhotso, by two unknown armed miscreants on January 6 night.

“This heinous assault, characterised by a brutal attack involving pistol butts to his head, is nothing short of a cowardly act and an attempt to murder. The union condemns such violently acts, which have no place in a cultured community,” a statement issued by the union stated.

The union has demanded the perpetrators to come forward with justification for their barbaric actions at the earliest failing which it warned to take its own course of action.

It further appealed to the law enforcement agencies to expedite the investigation process and apprehend the culprits in a timely manner.
