The Phek DPDB meeting discussed the importance of urban bodies and urged the judicious utilisation of government funds for town development.

DIMAPUR — Kudecho Khamo, Advisor for CAWD and Taxes and chairman of DPDB Phek, encouraged the town council administrations under Phek district, namely Phek, Pfütsero, and Chozuba, for the judicious utilisation of funding received from the government for the development of towns.
He said this during the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting held at the DC's conference hall, Phek, on April 14. According to a DIPR report, the chairpersons and members of the respective town councils and executive officers of Town Council Phek, Pfütsero, and Chozuba were also present at the meeting.
The activities and achievements of these three respective town councils and urban bodies were highlighted through PowerPoint presentations by the concerned chairpersons and administrative officers during the meeting.

During the discussion, Rhosietho Nguori, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Phek, stated the duties and responsibilities of urban bodies and town councils for the development of towns. He also urged all stakeholders to maintain transparency and accountability while executing government schemes and projects for the betterment of the citizens.
The presentation of awards for the cleanest town and village in Phek district was also conducted at the meeting, in which Chozuba Town Council and Pfutseromi village council were judged the cleanest town and village, respectively.
The meeting also deliberated on the livestock insurance agenda launched recently. Dr. Velilu Epao, VAS, Phek, highlighted the scheme through a PowerPoint presentation.
Expressing his concern regarding the office attendance of officers in the district, the DC informed the house that department group-wise checking of offices in the district will commence from the first week of May.
The Department of Social Welfare and Women Development and the Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection were entrusted to present their departmental activities at the next DPDB meeting.
