DIMAPUR — In a thrilling final of the second edition of Jalukie Phumling (JP) inter-khel tournament 2024 played at the Ball Park in Jalukie town on October 13, Heneing FC successfully defended their title by defeating Nchatsu FC 2-1.
The first goal of the match came in the second half when Heneing FC captain Keyirangzai Hingleu found the back of the net with a perfectly executed corner kick, sending the crowd into frenzy, an update stated.
However, Nchatsu FC were quick to respond with Ileugum Nhau scoring a well-earned equaliser after an intense scramble near the goalpost.
The game remained deadlocked until Heneing FC’s striker Inzumlung Hingleu broke through the Nchatsu FC defense and struck the winning goal after a deflection off the defense.
Nchatsu FC put up a valiant effort, with a strong defensive display that kept Heneing FC in check for most of the game. But in the end, Heneing FC’s persistence and tactical precision paid off, securing them the trophy once again.
In the closing ceremony, Jalukie Phumling Nko chairman, Heizeiying Mpom, the guest of honour, lauded the players and organisers for bringing the community together through sports.
