Diphu, May 21 (EMN): One day workshop on ‘Paid news and News Reporting during election’ was organised by Journalist Federation of Assam, Karbi Anglong District Committee today held at Rangsina Sarpo Auditorium, Lorulangso Assam.
Journalist Federation of Assam, Central Committee President Longsing Teron was the resource person. Teron said news is always about something new or unique about happenings around. For a journalist preserving sources is very important, to disclose all our sources will be valueless and to preserve our sources is our ‘duty and right’ articulated Teron.
To be a good reporter one has to acquire 21 points of qualities such as news sense, clarity of expression,objectivity,accuracy,alertness,speed,calmness,curiosity,punctuality,patience, imagination,far-sightedness,self-discipline,integrity,fearlessness and frankness, tactfulness, mobility and outgoing nature, diligent, team spirit, well-read and command over language.
He also briefed about the origin of press in India and the rise of press in India as well. ‘A good reporter has certain responsibilities towards organisation, society and sources’ said Teron during the workshop.
The workshop was attended by journalist fraternity from Bokajan, Hanjanglangso, Bokolia, Langhin, Dokmoka and Den arong wherein fifty members of journalist fraternity attended the workshop. The program was led by Rabir Singh, President Journalist Federation of Assam, Karbi Anglong District committee and vote of thanks delivered by its General Secretary Dr.Lipson Rongpi.
