The inspection team at CFC Wooden Furniture Cluster, Toluvi,
on January 18.
DIMAPUR — A joint verification was conducted
at the Common Facility Centre (CFC) Wooden Furniture Cluster, Toluvi, as part
of the Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP).
The verification was conducted by the Directorate of
Industries and Commerce, Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC)
Ltd., the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises-Development Institute
(MSME-DI), Dimapur, and the engineering wing of the Directorate of Industries
and Commerce, along with the SPV members.
An update stated that this project represents a significant
investment of INR 10.16 crore by the government of India through a funding
contribution pattern with the Ministry of MSME (80%), the government of
Nagaland (10%), and the SPV-CCDS (10%). It is expected to assist local units in
the furniture industry by providing access to common resources.
As per the latest joint inspection conducted on January 18
by the Chairman of NIDC, Kvulo Lorin, Commissioner and Secretary of Industries
and Commerce, Shanavas C, Director of Industries and Commerce, P Tokugha Sema,
and officials from the Department of Industries and Commerce, NIDC Ltd.,
Ministry of MSME-DI, DIC Dimapur, and the engineering wing of the Directorate
of Industries and Commerce, in the presence of the SPV members, it has been
reported that the project is progressing as planned and is set to be completed
as scheduled.
It was mentioned that the officials have been working
diligently and monitoring the project to ensure it stays on track, expressing
confidence that it will meet the deadline once the few remaining machines are
delivered, installed, and commissioned.
Civil works are almost complete, with 95% of the work
finished. The machinery is being purchased in accordance with the Ministry’s
final approval, and component-wise expenditure details have been checked and
found to be correct.
It was observed that 60% of the machinery has been supplied,
and orders have been placed for the remaining machinery, some of which are in transit.
