Joint Coordination Committee calls for public meeting on January 20

Dimapur, Jan. 18: The Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) of five tribes – formed to oppose the conduct of ULB elections in Dimapur – has called for a joint meeting on January 20 next at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur. This was decided at a meeting held today. JCC officials informed that the meeting will be attended by GB Association of Dimapur, chairmen of all colonies, church leaders, apex tribe hoho leaders, representatives of APO, ENPO and DUCCF. The JCC has expressed ‘deep appreciation’ to those candidates who have withdrawn their candidatures.It has also clarified that the ultimatum served to the state government to postpone the ULB elections was by the JCC, and not Naga Council Dimapur (NCD). The NCD, it informed, was supporting the JCC’s decision.
