Dimapur, Oct.30 (EMN): The Joint Associations Forum (JAF) has given an ultimatum to the state government over the non-implementation of higher pay level as recommended by the ROP Pay Anomalies Committee (PAC). According to a press statement, it was informed that four associations namely Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association (NDMSA), All Nagaland District Ministerial Service Association (ANDMSA), Trained Nurses Association of India, Nagaland Branch and Prison Service Association Nagaland had submitted a joint representation on September 12. However, the state government had not taken any action till date, it stated.
The JAF, therefore, urged the government to “to take the matter very seriously since it pertains to the livelihood of thousands of employees from the four associations working under the Government of Nagaland.”
Furthermore, it stated that the government in the past had given “higher scale of pay above the normal corresponding scale under the said ROP to certain categories of posts duly considered as pay anomalies.” This has not been extended for the last two ROPs, and the respective associations had also submitted their representations to the ROP PAC 2017 to address the issue.
“This has widened the gap in the pay structure between the upper and lower strata of employees in the state,” it stated.
The JAF also stated that the existing dissension over the fact that if employees from some categories are granted a higher scale of pay, other categories of posts with the same grade pay will ask for the same.
“Such upgradations of pay scales exercised during ROP, cadre review etc of different posts/ departments by the government from time to time in the past has never been questioned by any categories of employees,” it informed.
The JAF has, therefore, urged the government to address the issue within 15 days. If the government fails to respond to their request within the stipulated time, they will have to “undertake various forms of agitations to show our resentment,” it read.
