Dimapur, Sep. 23 (EMN): Jo Foundation School in Agri Colony, Kohima, celebrated the parents’ day on September 22 in the school premises in which children presented ingenious items to show their love and admiration to the parents.
Jo Foundation is an inclusive school started in the year 2010. The school provide different unique facilities to its students by special trained teachers like physiotherapy, music therapy, speech therapy etc besides the normal martial arts and music class facilities which is common in many schools. It also provides fee concessions to children with special needs, full time church workers and genuine economically weak family.
Speaking at the occasion, Director of Social Welfare Department and chief guest, T Merang Aier, opined the need for more inclusive schools in Nagaland to accommodate children with special needs. He said the society needs to contribute more for the uplift of children with special needs and also appreciated the school for their efforts and contributions to build a better future for the students.
Speaking on behalf of the parents, Pichano thanked the school and its teaching staff for shouldering the responsibility to mould the future of their children. She also thanked the students for their love and appreciation through different items.
During the programme, the children presented ‘Home Coming Kids- Camp Out!’ a Bill and Gloria Gaither presentation with much excitement and fanfare capturing the hearts of all parents and guardians present.
The programme began with an invocation prayer by administrator, Tenyenilo Thong, followed by welcome address delivered by the school chairman Daniel Thong Seb. The vote of thanks was delivered by head teacher Keyokhole Ltu. The programme ended with skill and art exhibition by the students.
