Dimapur, Nov. 23 (EMN): The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Chare in Tuensang district organized a public rally to commemorate national integration on Nov. 23 as part of the Quami Ekta Week (National Integration Week) being observed across the country during Nov. 19-25.
Holding posters and placards with messages of national integration, students and their teachers went on a procession in Chare after a formal programme in the school’s campus, updates on Thursday stated.
The National Integration Pledge was administered by Harish Kalita, principal in charge of the JNV. The pledge states to work with dedication to preserve and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation, to never resort to violence; to continue to endeavour toward settlement of all differences and disputes relating to religion, language, region or other political or economic grievances through peaceful and constitutional means.
During the event Kalita exhorted the students to live in unity and render valuable contribution to the growth of the nation. He urged the students to reinforce the spirit of communal harmony and reconnect with the sense of belonging to a great nation.
“Students are the nation builders and by being part of such programmes with utmost unity and co-ordination, one can play an important role in maintaining national integrity and unity of the nation,” the updates quoted the principal as having said during the event.
Also, delivering the Master-on-Duty speech in the morning assembly was Shahidul Islam, TGT-Assamese. He urged the students to foster and reinforce the spirit of communal harmony and national integration. He urged them to take pride in the country’s vibrant composite culture and nationhood.
Different activities including poster-making, essay-writing, and quiz competition among others were conducted in the school after the procession, it was informed.
