Kohima, July 8 (EMN): John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema and Baptist High Kohima registered win at the ongoing third Kohima District Inter-School Football Tournament on Monday, July 8 at the IG Stadium in Kohima.
John Government Higher Secondary School beat Mt. Hermon Higher Secondary School 2-1 in the first match. Kelethuto Kin and Neingusazo Neikha scored a goal apiece in the 39th and 47th minute for John GHSS. Meanwhile, the lone goal for Mt Hermon HSS came from the boot of Nenshalo in the 27th minute.
In the second match, Baptist High Kohima beat Dainty Buds School 2-1.
Dainty Buds School led in the first half, with a goal from the boots of Thejanguzo in the 16th minute.
Baptist High Kohima picked up the pace in the second half and scored two goals leading them through to the next round. The two goals were scored by Cheniren Patton (C) in the 43rd minute and Aphong Salim in the 54th minute respectively.
