Jeho Himnakulhpuingheta and Bhavna Kashyap clinch top honours at the 5th Toyota NIAPA Northeast Open Table Tennis Tournament.

KOHIMA — Mizoram’s Jeho Himnakulhpuingheta clinched his fourth Men’s Singles title at the 5th Toyota NIAPA Northeast Open Table Tennis Tournament at the NIAPA Mini Stadium, Chümoukedima, on Sunday.
Jeho defeated Agniv Bhaskar Gohain of Assam 4–2 in the Men’s Singles final. This marked Agniv’s third consecutive final defeat in the championship. Khelendrajit Yengkhom of Manipur and Alberto LR Ruata of Mizoram finished as losing semifinalists.
The Men’s Singles winner received INR 25,000, while the runner-up received INR 15,000. The semifinalists received INR 5,000 each.
In the Women’s Singles category, Assam’s Bhavna Kashyap defeated defending champion Trisha Gogoi 4–3 in the final to lift her maiden title in Nagaland. Moumita Saha of Mizoram and Anushna Das of Assam ended as semifinalists. The prize money for the category was INR 20,000, INR 12,000, and INR 4,000 respectively.

The Men’s Doubles title was retained by Mizoram’s Jeho Himnakulhpuingheta and Alberto LR Ruata, who defeated the Assam pair of Agniv Bhaskar Gohain and Shankab Gautam Baruah. Laishram Bikram Singh and Meisnam Basantakumar Singh of Mizoram, along with Khelendrajit Yengkhom and Ning Thoujam Colman Singh of Manipur, finished as semifinalists.
Assam’s Shankab and Trisha won the Mixed Doubles title, while Agniv Bhaskar Gohain and Bhavna Kashyap placed second. In the Best Duo of Nagaland category, Kanishk Jain and Hekito Sema secured first place.
Bhavna Kashyap also won the Under-21 Girls’ Singles title, with Anushna Das finishing second. In the Under-21 Boys’ Singles, Manipur’s Khelendrajit Yengkhom claimed the title, while Ning Thoujam Colman Singh finished second.
The closing ceremony was attended by special guest Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima, Polan John, who handed over the awards.
