Dimapur, August 28 (EMN): The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome has on Monday notified all the local bodies in the district to conduct preventive measures to ensure that the recent detection of Japanese Encaphalitis does not spread through the outbreak of vectors.
"AII Wards Chairman & GBs are hereby notified to clear stagnant water as well as spread awareness in their respective areas.
Since stagnant water not only pose serious health hazard but also prove to be excellent breeding ground for mosquitoes which are carrier of deadly disease like dengue and Japanese encephalitis," stated the notification from the DC.
The notification comes at the backdrop of cases of JE being detected in the district.
