At the backdrop of merger of State JD(U) legislator with the NPF, the Janata Dal (United) has decided to continue in DAN to fulfill the promises made to the people of Nagaland till its fullest tenure and stick to pre-poll Common Minimum Programs of DAN.
The State unit of JD(U) held an emergency meeting and took cognizance of the merger of its lone MLA B.S Nganlang and along with Mhonjan Lotha, President State Unit and K. Yimso, DAN Member and ex- candidate and with some party workers to NPF.
The State JD (U) led by Y. Rhekhum, Working President Nagaland State unit met higher command of the party at party head office in New Delhi on December 3 to highlight the political development in the State, Lakiu Kips, General Secretary JD(U) Nagaland Unit in a statement said.
However, it noted that Janata Dal (united) in Nagaland has been a longest political partner in DAN NPF led government since 2003 in political history of Nagaland, and Sharad Yadav, President J.D. (U) has appointed Y. Rhekhum, working President Nagaland State Unit as President In-charge of the State unit of Janata Dal (United) with immediate effect.
