Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): The YouthNet and Japfü Christian College, Kigwema signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on ‘Linking education to employment’. This was informed by the college authority on Tuesday.
The aim of signing MOU is to impart the college students with training and real work experience while they are in their final year of college.
Principal of the college, Dr. Visakhonü Hibo said this was a landmark move as students from Japfü Christian College would get real life work experience while they are still in college.
Corporate affairs and public relations of YouthNet, Razouvikhol Lüho, emphasised that NJC and NCDC are connected with over 150 clients and they would facilitate the students to get real life experience while they pursue their education or after completion. This would also get them ready for employment when they graduate, he said.
Director YouthNet Lezo Putsure said ‘we need to keep our young people busy in doing productive things.’
Stating that with each year government jobs are becoming scarcer and the private sector is growing, Putsure said ‘Nagaland will see more entrepreneurs and private players come in and that’s when we need to get our young people with the right skills.’
Linking education to employment is a starting tool to bridge this gap, he added.
