Kohima, Jan. 29 (EMN): With an aim to promote overseas education and employment in Japan for Indian students, the launching programme of Eduwork Japan Centre of Excellence in partnership with YouthNet was held at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima, on January 29.
The chief guest and governor, PB Acharya, has lauded the initiative of the centre to strengthen the young people with skilled education. He mentioned that despite having numerous colleges in India, he felt that the knowledge acquired in the present education system is not applicable to the social or economic development.
The governor called upon the youngsters to change their mindset seeking for white-collar job but instead become an entrepreneurs stating that there are enormous natural resources in Nagaland that could boost the development of the state.
Reminding the youngsters that they have debt towards their own people, society and the country, the governor asked the students to come back to Nagaland after completing their courses and vocational training. He was of the opinion that they should not only depend on Delhi for development but equipped with skilled knowledge and become an entrepreneur and create jobs to the state to render service to the people.
“Our young people should be job giver and not job seekers,” said Acharya and encouraged the young people who are equipped with their skilled knowledge to become an entrepreneur and not employees.
Raju Monga, Managing Director and CEO of Eduwork International Service Limited, while giving a brief history on the centre, said it was a platform to provide quality education in order to excel in their career. He said the centre would provide guide and give an opportunity to the youngsters of Nagaland.
“We are here on a long-term for the youth and students of Nagaland,” said Monga. Monga said that free training would be provided for learning Japanese language before the students join the course in Japan.
Hisahiro Yoshioka, director of O-Hara College of Business Japan Language Institute, Tokyo, Japan, said the institute is committed to moulding future of students through specialised education and contribute to social development. He said O-Hara operates 108 schools on a national scale across Japan. He also hoped the new centre would build a better relationship between Japan and India.
After the launching programme, a students’ seminar on “study and work in Japan” was held.
