DIMAPUR — Nagaland lone Lok Sabha MP, S Supongmeren Jamir, on Friday submitted two unstarred questions in the parliament seeking an answer to the two agreements signed between the Government of India and Naga political groups and the Frontier Nagaland Territory issue of the Eastern Naga People's Organisation (ENPO).
A press release from the NPCC communication department stated that both the unstarred questions were unfortunately disallowed by the Speaker on the ground that the information sought was secret in nature and in contravention of Rule 41(2) (xxi) of the "Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha."
It, however, stated that in response to subsequent requests by the MP, the Speaker allowed the Frontier Nagaland Territory issue to be raised in the Lok Sabha for discussion under Rule 377 of the same Rules of Procedures and Conduct.
The release also stated that Jamir had called on Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, at his office chamber and apprised him of the two issues along with an update of his recent efforts to raise the issues in the Lok Sabha.
It further stated that the MP is committed to do everything in his powers to represent the voice of the people of Nagaland.
