Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): The Jairampur Battalion under the aegis of Dao division apprehended five Eastern Naga National Govt. (ENNG) cadres during a military operation at Miao town in Changlang district on April 17. An update from the press information bureau of defence wing informed about the incident on Wednesday.
Among the apprehended were one, self-styled ‘major’ Thaimong Mossang who was stated to be an over-ground worker of ENNG and one Awang Hodung, who was stated to be a ‘notorious cadre.’ According to the report, the Jairampur Battalion acted on a specific intelligence input about the cadres trying to terrorize and carryout recruitment activities in Miao town. They then swiftly launched an operation and cordoned the suspected location. On being challenged the cadres tried to flee but the troops chased down the cadres and overpowered them.
Post spot interrogation all of them admitted allegiance to ENNG underground faction, the report added.
