Speaking at the programme at Kevijau colony, Dimapur, Piyongtemjen Jamir said Raksha Bandhan and Holi festival are not only for Hindus. He also added that the festival is to learn brotherhood and love. James Vijo spoke on how integrated Hindu and Muslim in 1905 celebrate Raksha Bandhan while Walenniba Jamir said Raksha Bandhan festival is for unity of society. Pankaj Sinha and assistant professor Sanjukta Bhattacharjee also spoke during the programme. Children of VB Infants Digital Home (Pre-children school) also celebrated Raksha Bandhan with their guardians. To further strengthen the bond between Assam Rifles and the local population, troops of 36 Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (N) celebrated Raksha Bandhan with students of Heraka Vidya Mandir, Jalukie. Students and teachers of the school tied Rakhis on officers, junior commissioned officers and jawans of the battalion.
