Dimapur, Feb. 22 (EMN): Jail Colony Council (JCC), Kohima, has resolved to exercise all possible efforts for a peaceful conduct of polling within its jurisdiction. The resolution to this effect was taken during the council meeting on February 17.
A joint press statement issued by the council chairman Neise Mechulho and the Head GB Aba Kuotsu said the house has resolved to restrict entry of any outsider (non colony residents) having no vote in its polling station except on election duty. It added that the resolutions were taken as a precautionary measure to ensure free and fair voting.
The Jail Colony Council and the youth organisation have appealed to all concerned to co-operate for smooth conduct of the election in all fairness in the colony.
