Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): Members of the joint associations forum (JAF), a group of government workers, began its phase-wise agitation on Wednesday by wearing black badges in their respective work place.
The JAF’s convenor M Renthungo Tungoe and co-convenor V Peter Rutsa stated that that forum would continue wearing black badges for some more days. They warned of intensifying its agitation if the government refuses to fulfil their demands.
It stated that all the respective associations have been demanding higher perks and better treatment since many years. Now that the ROP PAC had finally addressed their long desired demands, it said that the government not accepting the recommendation was a bitter blow. The JAF has decided to not bow to any ‘excuses from the government,’ it was informed.
The forum has directed its constituent members to continue wearing black badges till further notice.
The forum consists of Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association, All Nagaland District Ministerial Service Association, Trained Nurses Association of India-Nagaland Branch, and Prison Service Association Nagaland.
