
IRCSN officials along with the fire affected victims during
the relief distribution programme in Dimapur on Thursday.
- DIMAPUR — The
Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Nagaland, under the leadership of its general
secretary, Akhale V Khamo, extended relief to the recent fire victims in
Dimapur on Thursday.
- An update from the IRCSN stated that the relief operation
was carried out in collaboration with the IRCS Dimapur district branch by
providing critical relief materials to families who lost their homes and
belongings. The relief team visited three fire-affected camps and distributed
essential items such as blankets, hygiene kits, kitchen sets and tarpaulins.
- The team visited four affected families in Kuda village, 250
affected families in Naharbari as well as the affected families in Lhomithi
Colony.
- Speaking about the initiative, Akhale V Khamo emphasised the
importance of organised responses in times of disaster.
- “The Indian Red Cross Society stands by those in need,
ensuring that no family faces tragedy alone. We remain dedicated to alleviating
suffering and restoring hope,” Khamo said.
- Meanwhile, IRCS Nagaland has extended gratitude to the
Dimapur district branch and the volunteers for their service in ensuring relief
reached the affected families. It has affirmed to continue advocating
preparedness and community resilience in the face of disasters.
