Union Human Resource Development (HRD) minister Smriti Irani will be in Nagaland on October 2 to inaugurate the Mahatma Gandhi Academy of Human Development, Chuchuyimlang in Mokokchung district.
TR Zeliang, Chief Minister and Nuklutoshi, Minister for National Highways, Mechanical and Elections will be the guest of honour and special guest respectively. This was informed by Dr. Aotoshi, Trustee,Nagaland Gandhi Ashram, Chyuchuyimlang.Important dignitaries to participate at the inaugural function of Mahatma Gandhi Academy of Human Development at Chuchuyimlang are Natwar Thakkar, Founder-Secretary, Nagaland Gandhi Ashram, Chuchuyimlang, Prof. S. Parasuraman, Director, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, Lt. Gen (Retd.) S.M. Mehta, CEO, Hans Foundation, New Delhi, Mar Atsongchanger, Executive Secretary, ABAM & President NBCC, SanenPongen, Chairman, Chuchuyimlang Village Council.
MGAHD will be the 5th Campus of TISS in India and will initially have MSW and Diploma courses on Social Work and Entrepreneurship. The session for the diploma course will begin from November 2015 while that of MSW course will start in the middle of next year. The academy will establish more institutes for various professional courses in phase manner.
