KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 29: Close on the heel of launching the Naga News apps, Department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) today launched its redesigned official website at IPR Citadel conference hall, Kohima.
Formally launching the website, Secretary of IPR, T Ao, underlined on the need to keep the website dynamic and active stating that redundant and obsolete website will be of no interest to the public.
He expressed hope that the concerned officials would take adequate care to maintain the website in a colourful manner adding it has so much to offer not only to news related matters but government advertisements, notifications and other information which will be of help to the public.
On the sideline of the launching programme, T Ao also announced that after a long struggle, the long awaited Journalist Welfare Fund has been approved by the cabinet. Though there are still lots to be done in bringing out the guidelines and others, he said the department is doing its best to get things materialised at the earliest.Chairing the programme, Director of IPR, Limawati Ao, said the
redesigned website of comprehensive dynamic and customs CMS with multi role and a one stop access for dissemination of information is not only for media personnel but to the general public.
Though IPR was one of the first departments in the state to have its website in 2004-05, he said due to some technical issues the website had to be upgraded and redesigned. Expressing pride on the launching of the website, Ao said ‘it is a milestone for the Department of IPR’ focusing on credibility and seriousness towards citizen services and a cost-effective tool to leverage the department’s objectives.
The newly launched website was designed by Kedousietuo Nagi, (MCA) CEO of Ramitech IT Solution.
Key modules of the IPR website will include VIP profile, photo video gallery, Naga News, notification (press release/announcement/circulars/etc.), article publications, archives, district festivals profile with GIS maps integration, downloads and contact directory.
