Dimapur, March 31 (EMN): Nagaland, along with other states in India will be undertaking 2nd round of Intensive Pulse Polio (IPPI) on April 2.
The Department of Health & Family Welfare is all geared up to administer Polio drops to over 2,29,587 eligible children from 0-5 years throughout the state in 2296 Polio booths to be manned by 9184 health personnel and 459 supervisors along with vaccines and other logistics.
Principal Director Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Dr.L.Watikala has informed that special focus will be given to migrant population with an aim to prevent importation of Polio cases. The total number of children covered during the 1st round IPPI which was held on the January 9 was 2,18,993.
While thanking everyone for their past cooperation, the department appealed all sections of the people, agencies, including the security forces and police, organisations, churches and community leaders and especially parents of children below 5 years to come forward and ensure that all eligible children receive the “Two Drops of Life".

In a separate press release, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Mokokchung has all the parents to ensure that their children receive two polio drops on April 2 from the nearest IPPI Booth.
