It is a huge advantage for the saffron party. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s big eyes are rolling calculating every development of the present political quagmire of the state. Hovering like a kite while calculating the right timing to swoop down to have its prey—the President’s Rule followed by assembly elections in the next few months’ time. Being the ruling party at the Centre the BJP will find no more hurdles as they used to encounter in the past polls in Nagaland. Given this background of interest it will not be a wrong thing to say that the Centre will not discourage Tom, Dick and Harry from aggravating further the already highly charged situation. In the next few days’ time don’t get shocked if the NDA government imposes President’s Rule in Nagaland. This has been the move of any government at the Centre when political pandemonium prevails in states where the government is ruled by the other party. Also, kindly recall the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has been saying that regionalism has no place in modern India. It is to say that regional political parties have no relevance today. Therefore, the BJP under Mr Modi is all out to do away the regional parties. So, the BJP led government has no other better opportunity than this to annihilate the Naga People’s Front (NPF). The clock is ticking and the NDA is about to raise its hammer to strike the 11 years old crowing Cock of Nagaland.
