Dimapur, Dec. 2 (EMN): The 13th International Hornbill Naga Wrestling Championship, under the aegis of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) will take place on December 4 at the Amphitheatre, Naga Heritage Village in Kisama at 10 am.
An update on Monday informed that Neiprezo Keditsu, chairman Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board will attend the occasion as the special guest.
The champion will receive a cash prize of INR 1.20 lakh while the runner-up will receive INR 80,000.
The losing semi-finalists will receive INR 30,000 each.
10 best wrestlers each from Angami Sports Association (ASA), Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA), Zeliang Wrestling Association (ZWA) with other participants from Uzbekistan, Australia, Delhi and Manipur are expected to participate in the championship.
ASA wrestlers: Kezhavizo Thevo, Mhiesilhousie Nagi, Rovilhoulie Pier, Vizhakietuo Suohu, Neithongulie Kuotsu, Seyiekhrietuo Yiese, Menuosetuo Yiese, Kekhrie Yhoshu, Khrietsonyii Whuorie, and Seyiesalie Nakhro.
CWA wrestlers: Vetuzo Dawhuo, Mudotso Thira, Venuzo Dawhuo, Venuo Medeo, Wekhroto Mero, Chekhro Kapfo, Kuchohu Curha, Vekutho Soho, Suhrhovoyi Nienu, and Vevohu Swuro.
ZWA wrestlers: Penamhung, Lungemsing, Railong, Machi, Wilungkhangbo, Iculeung, Ireusape, Ilamdi, Haiswadi, and Itingchi.
Other wrestlers: Dushyant Kumar (Delhi), Sanju Kumar (Delhi), Sudhir Kumar (Delhi), Ankit Singh (Delhi), Sanju Gautam (Delhi), Conor Murphy (Australia), and Tsuknungakum Ao (Mokokchung).
Meanwhile, the update also added that registration for other communities is still open.
