Dimapur, March 21 (EMN): The Wildlife Wing from the department of Environment Forests and Climate Change celebrated the International Day of Forests on March 21 in Dimapur.
While addressing the gathering, Satya Prakash Tripathi, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest mentioned that the day is commemorated to celebrate the importance of all types of greeneries around. It is forests that provides ‘clean air’ and ‘fresh-water’ creating an ‘ecological balance,’ said Tripathi. The update was conveyed from the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR).
Speaking on the significance of the forest, Tripathi said that Forests helps in addressing many issues such as soil erosion, flooding and landslides.
While celebrating the forests day, Rajkumar, assistant conservator of forest said that, “though the field staffs work with limited resources and in harsh conditions, there is an innate sense of satisfaction and pride in working for the cause of humanity.” He also applauded the efforts of the staff in their contribution to improve the department.
The new mantra was followed as “Green environment and clean environment,” added IPR.
