
IMPHAL — An interfaith rally for peaceful existence was held in Imphal on Tuesday with an appeal to end violence and initiate dialogue to bring peace in Manipur. The rally was organised by Interfaith forum for peace and harmony (IFPH) Manipur.
Representatives of all religions/faith and spiritual communities in Manipur took part in the day’s rally which passed through the routes around Palace compound in Imphal to express their pain and anguishes on the on-going violence that has caused extreme human sufferings on all sides.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Four MPs Abdul Wahab, Abdussamad Samadani, Mohammed Basheer(Kelara), Kani K Navas (Tamil Nadu) and Indian Union Muslim League president Shihab Thangal were also present during the rally.
IFPH comprises of All Manipur Buddhists Association, All Manipur Christian Organization, Art of Living, Manipur, Bhakti Seva Lub/Ekta Parishad, Brahmakumari Manipur, Catholic Diocese Imphal, Divine Life Society, Manipur, Federation of Madrasahs, Manipur, 9) International Society of Gaudiya Vaishnavas, International Society of Krishna Consciousness, Manipur, Jain Samaj, Manipur, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Manipur, - Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board, Mahatma Seva Ashram, Manipur, Manipur Baptist Convention,Meitei Christian Church Council Manipur, Manipur Cultural Integration Conference,Naga Christian Forum Manipur, Rongmei Naga Baptist Association,Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak, Phom (Assam, Nagaland, Manipur)
Regarding the day’s interfaith rally, Deben Bachaspatimayum, a representative of IFPH said that the initiative is to stop the violence with the involvement of all communities and find a peaceful formula following a dialogue. He further added that the organisation is also planning to take up the initiative in national and international platforms.
The organisation appealed all concerned to stop the on-going violence and create safe space for dialogue processes to take place by involving all stakeholders in the state.
