Dimapur, Dec. 7 (EMN): The two day inter-ward volleyball tournament at Medziphema town, was declared open by Miathou Krose, Chairman, NHHDC Ltd, Nagaland, at Thehouba ground, Ward- 5 on Fri. Dec. 7. The general secretary, Medziphema Town Youth Organisation (MTYO) issued a press release on Fri. Dec. 7.
Speaking as the chief patron at the inaugural ceremony, Miathou lauded the efforts of both the organisers, Medziphema Town Youth Organisation (MTYO) as also all the different participating teams. "All activities are a display of character and more so, good character is vital for long-term success even in games and sports", he advised, and added that "it is not about winning but participating in the true spirit of the game." While wishing the best to all participating teams, Krose remarked that "we should always abide by the rules of the game with discipline and keep the team spirit" in order to excel. He further noted the fact that events such as games and sports can heal differences and bring about mutual understanding between people or groups.
