
Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): The first group of inter-state returnees from other north-eastern states comprising 11 persons from the Jain community reached Dimapur by bus on May 12 at around 6:45 pm at Agri Expo site, Dimapur.
On their arrival at the reception centre put up at Agri Expo site, all the returnees filled in the form with necessary details and proceeded for screening at the medical facility centre followed by dinner at Agri Expo site. Thereafter, they were quarantined at Jain bhavan in Marwari Patti, which was approved by the district administration and medical department after fulfilling all criteria to be set up as quarantine centre, a DIPR report stated.
Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) and Dimapur in-charge for Covid-19, Kikheto Sema has lauded the Jain community and other non-Nagas for taking the whole responsibility for their own respective community.
"Nagas should also come forward to take responsibility during such extraordinary time," he maintained.
Meanwhile, the second batch of returnees numbering 20 have reached Dimapur from Jorhat, Mariani and Titabor in four buses around 9:10 pm. After going through the necessary protocols, they were kept at the quarantine centres.
Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi; APC and in-charge of Dimapur district for Covid-19, Kikheto Sema, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur; and officials from medical department visited the Agri Expo site in the morning to oversee the preparations and logistics for receiving the returnees.
Kikheto Sema informed that Dimapur district would receive everyone initially for the whole state and has sought the cooperation of all civil organisations. Principal director of Health and Family Welfare, Vizolie, CMO and Deputy CMO Dimapur and hosts of medical officials also welcomed the returnees at Agri Expo site, Dimapur.
