Dimapur Sep. 17 (EMN): The Chumukedima Inter-School meet organised by the Chumukedima Town Students’ Union (CTSU) which was held at the 1st NAP ground concluded on Sep. 15. This was stated in a press statement received here on Monday.
24 schools comprising of both high school and and higher secondary schools from within Chumukedima area participated in various events such as football, volleyball and tug of war.
Vikluto John NPS Commandant 1st NAP who graced the closing ceremony as the patron lauded the budding participants for exhibiting their best spirit of competition and enthusiasm in various events.
Both the boys and girls who excelled in various events were rewarded for their outstanding achievements in the tournament.
The overall champion of the tournament was awarded to St. Joseph Higher Secondary School Chumukedima. Patkai Higher Secondary School won the football (senior) and Mt. Mary Higher Secondary School won the football (junior). Shikinah High School won the girls volleyball. Girls’ junior tug of war was won by St. Joseph Higher Secondary School and NPCS won the boys’ tug of war.
On the final day, a marathon race was held where Patkai Higher Secondary School and St Gabriel Higher Secondary School emerged as the champions from amongst the 24 schools.
