
KIPHIRE — The inter-school cricket tournament for under-16 boys, organised by the Kiphire District Cricket Association (KDCA), kicked off on Monday with SDO (C) Kiphire headquarters, Sulanthung Khenchug as the special guest in the inaugural ceremony.
In his address, the special guest underscored the values of sportsmanship, resilience and teamwork instilled through cricket. Khenchug’s speech also echoed the tournament's broader objective of holistic development beyond the cricket pitch.
Head GB of Kiphire highlighted the community's unwavering support for sports initiatives. Representatives from various private schools also spoke on the pivotal role of sports in nurturing all-round development of students.
Earlier, Pastor Chopongkyu Anar from KTBL invoked God’s blessings for the success of the tournament and safety of the participants, and convenor of the KDCA tournament delivered the welcome address.
