Inter-departmental tourney underway in Phek

An update from DIPR informed that the tournament, which is organised by Officers’ Club Phek in collaboration with Evening Smashers Phek and Phek District Badminton Association, will conclude on October 5. Attending the sporting event as the special guest, deputy commissioner of Phek, Sachin Jaiswal appreciated the organising committee for bringing in a huge number of participants, totalling 358, to the tournament. He also encouraged the participants to play with true sportsmanship and discipline till the end. Tokavi Achumi, addl. SP Phek, delivered the welcome address while the district sports officer, Phek, DziesebinuoVizo led the oath taking ceremony. The participants will compete in badminton, arm-wrestling, chess and carom at the event.
