DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14: The 6th Inter-departmental tournament got underway at the Indoor Stadium, Zunheboto on Wednesday. The program was jointly organised by District Sports Council Zunheboto (DSCZ) and PHED department.
The Parliamentary Secretary, Jail, Science and Technology, S. Hukavi Zhimomi graced the occasion as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Zhimomi said that badminton has brought laurels and glory to India when shuttler P.V. Sindhu won the silver medal in the recently concluded Olympic Games. Encouraging the participants to have true sportsmanship, Zhimomi said discipline is a must in any sports and asked the players to give their best and make the tournament a memorable one.
District Sports Officer (DSO) Asekho Talie in his welcome address said 32 departments will be competing in the tournament and thanked all the heads of offices and officials for their presence.
