DIMAPUR — The 5th edition of the Inter-Department Badminton Tournament commenced at Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Stadium, Kohima, on Friday.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Joint Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, Dr. Kevizakie Rio encouraged the participants representing various departments to stay active by engaging in healthy games, stating that “all work and no play makes Jack dull”.
Kevizakie, who is also the directorate of School Education Club, lauded the Inter-Departmental Badminton Club (IDBC) Kohima for organising the tournament since 2021 and wished the participants the best, updated DIPR.

He went on to encourage the officials to cultivate good coordination with each other to optimize human resources.
Addressing the gathering, IDBC President Vipulhou Lhoungu informed that the concept of the tournament was conceived in 2020, after which the IDBC took the initiative to organise the tournament.
The main objective of the tournament is to create a platform for all officers, staff, and Heads of Departments (HoDs) to socialise, get to know each other and take a break from their busy schedules, said that update.
Lhoungu also declared the tournament open on the inaugural day.
A total of 61 teams from various departments are participating in the tournament.
