Inter Churches football tourney underway at Diphu

Diphu, Sep. 27 (EMN): The 1st Inter Churches knock out football tournament organised by Diphu Baptist Church Youth Ministry (DBCYM) got underway at Christian English High School ground here on Wednesday. The inaugural match of the tournament was played between Upper Dokmoka Baptist Church and Karbi Anglong Presbyterian Church, Birla It was a high voltage match as both the teams were unable to score in the first half. But luckily Budho Taro of Upper Dokmoka Baptist Church scored in the 2nd half to open the account for his team. Karbi Anglong Presbyterian Church, Birla on the other hand had attempted several times but could put the ball into the net till the final whistle. Upper Dokmoka Baptist Church beat Karbi Anglong Presbyterian Church, Birla with a margin of 1-0. The first match on Thursday will be played between Evangelical Baptist Convention Church (EBCC), Bithilangso and Langherang Baptist Church, and 2nd match will be play between Evangelical Baptist Church Convention (EBCC), Diphu against Diphu Baptist Chuch,Assamese Department . Earlier Rev. Davidson Ingti, Rev. K. Ronghang and Rev. Hilson Singnar, Pastor Diphu Baptist Church graced the inauguration programme as the guests of honour.
