INTACH Nagaland holds workshop on endangered arts and craft for students at NEZCC on Wednesday.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), in collaboration with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, on Wednesday organised an awareness workshop on endangered arts and craft at the premises of NEZCC.
An update from INTACH Nagaland Chapter stated that the workshop was aimed at introducing and creating awareness to school children on the rich and diverse craft heritage, with a focus on bamboo mat weaving that risks fading away through hands-on learning led by two experienced craft practitioners.
It stated that NEZCC put up a cultural show at the end of the workshop for the benefit of the participants. It added that 83 students from eight schools attended the workshop.

The participating schools included Christina Memorial Higher Secondary School, Amazing School, Charis High Academy, Christian Higher Secondary School, St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, El-Shaddai Academy, Little Star Higher Secondary School and the The Maple Tree School.
The director of NEZCC, Dr. Prashanna Gogoi, awarded participation certificate to all the 83 students.
Meanwhile, INTACH Nagaland Chapter has expressed gratitude to NEZCC for the support and to all the schools, who have supported and participated in the craft workshop.
