Awardees along with NCSU members and others during the
Advent Christmas celebration and the presentation of the Best Traffic Awards at
Hotel Japfu in Kohima on Wednesday.
DIMAPUR — Various
institutions and organisations across the state celebrated Advent Christmas.
NCSU: The Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU)
held its Advent Christmas celebration and the presentation of the Best Traffic
Awards at Hotel Japfu in Kohima on Wednesday.
According to an update, the Best Traffic Award for female
was presented to L.Nk Visekule (South Traffic Control), and the male award went
to traffic constable S. Benjamin Patton (North Traffic Control). They each
received a citation and a cash award of INR 10,000.
NCSU president Pele Khezhie, speaking on the occasion, said
that while contractors give their best, even a one per cent mistake leads to
people pointing fingers at them.
He therefore urged them not to be discouraged but to stand
together and continue to improve infrastructure development in the state, as
contracting and supply are the only major industries in Nagaland.
Khezhie also appreciated the traffic personnel for their
hard work in managing traffic regulations in the best possible way at all
times.
The NCSU president requested the SP Kohima to consider the
prospects of the award recipients during their service promotions.
SP Kohima Teisovisie Metha lauded the NCSU officials and
members for being one of the most mature unions in the state, with all tribes
staying united and working for the development of the state.
He also commended the NCSU for establishing the award in 2013
and for motivating the traffic personnel of the capital district to improve
their performance.
Both Khezhie and Metha extended Christmas and New Year
greetings to all. Pastor Jonathan Mesen of Rengma Baptist Church shared the
Christmas message, encouraging contractors and suppliers to put God first in
their work.
St. Joseph University: St. Joseph University in Chümoukedima
held a pre-Christmas celebration on December 17 at its university auditorium,
themed "The greatest gift of all." The event brought together
students, faculty, and administrators.
The celebration was hosted by Linoka Chishi, assistant
professor in the department of Psychology and Counselling, and Hokato,
assistant professor in the Department of History.
An address was delivered by Rev. Dr. James Thoppil,
pro-chancellor and Bishop of the Kohima Diocese. In his message, Bishop Thoppil
reflected on the biblical phrase from the Gospel of John: "The Word became
flesh and dwelt among us," emphasising that the birth of Jesus Christ is
one of the greatest gifts to humanity.

Gnanadurai, highlighted the importance of Bible research and study in shaping
one’s life. He encouraged the attendees not to focus solely on academic
research but also to delve into the profound wisdom found within the Bible.
The event concluded with an exchange of gifts among the
university administrators, faculty, and staff.
NDPP Pughoboto: Celebrating the spirit of Christmas, the
NDPP Pughoboto region held a pre-Christmas celebration at the party office in
Pughoboto on Wednesday.
The celebration was marked by an exhortation from the party
region president, followed by a mass prayer and cake cutting, according to an
update.
The celebration was attended by the rank and file of the
NDPP Pughoboto region.
DHFW: The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DHFW)
celebrated Advent Christmas on Wednesday at the DHFW lobby.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Mereninla Senlem, addl.
director, with an invocation by Dr. Thomas Keppen, dy. director. Senior
officers of the directorate shared thoughts on "What Christmas means to
me”.
A special song was presented by NSACS staff, followed by a
Christmas carol led by Jentinochet Amer.
DMMDH WOKHA: Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital (DMMDH),
Wokha, celebrated Advent Christmas at Doyang on December 17.
Dr. N Mhonchan Kithan, medical superintendent of the
hospital, speaking on the occasion, encouraged the staff to make Jesus Christ
their Saviour and Lord while celebrating Christmas.
Associate pastor Chumdemo Patton of Old Riphyim Baptist
Church shared the Advent Christmas message, encouraging the congregation to let
Christ be born in their lives this Christmas and to live a life of patience,
faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
During the service, Dr. Chenithung Yanthan, senior dental
surgeon, wished the staff love, joy, and peace.
