Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): Sao Chang College in Tuensang observed the vigilance awareness week on October 28 at the college campus on the theme ‘Integrity, a way of life.” The vigilance awareness week programme was jointly organised by the National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS) and Literary Committee of the college.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Nungsangtola, assistant professor, while the welcome address was delivered by Dr. A Nshoga, college principal.
To mark the occasion, assistant professor Akyuba Sangtam administered the integrity pledge to the students, teachers and staff. The hostellers also presented a song during the programme.
After the formal programme, an essay writing, slogan competition, hoarding of posters and banners activities were conducted. This was stated in a press release issued by the media cell of the college.
SJGS: DMI St. Joseph Global School observed the vigilance awareness week on November 1 in the school premises by organising various activities such as debate, elocution, drawing and painting competitions.
Speaking on the occasion, resource person and assistant professor from the department of civil engineering of St. Joseph University, Khekiye Aye, stated that the vigilance awareness week is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
He educated the children to be aware and vigilant of the happenings around them. He stated that by being vigilant, social evil like corruption in all spheres of public life would not happen and also check corruption to a greater extent.
He also urged the students to be strongly rooted in morals and values and never indulge in corrupt practices. He further encouraged the students to persevere for a corruption-free society.
78 CRPF: 78 Battalion CRPF located at Zubza in Kohima district observed the vigilance awareness week on the theme ‘Eradicate corruption- Build a new India’ from October 28 to the November 2nd.
The vigilance awareness week commenced with the vigilance integrity pledge taken by all the rank and file of the Battalion on October 28 and also displayed banners inscribed with slogans and posters on the anti-corruption at prime locations of the campus.
Anil Kumar Jha, Commandant (AOL), had briefed on the significance of the event and spoke on the theme. The week-long programme saw activities such as workshops, sensitisation programme, and debate competition on anti-corruption. Banners/ posters against corruption were also displayed at prominent places.
