Dimapur, Aug. 12 (EMN): A meeting for principals and nodal teachers on measles-rubella vaccination campaign under Zunheboto Sadar was held on Aug. 9 at the Chief Medical Office in Zunheboto.
During the workshop, Dr. Mulasato Keyho, MO i/c Asuto PHC briefed the objectives of the workshop and encouraged the participants to work hand in hand with the health workers.
He motivated the participants to actively participate for the campaign.
Dr. Keyho apprised them on the micro planning, recording, reporting and monitoring tools and also the rollout plan with timelines and other guidelines, planning of schools and outreach vaccination campaign.
District Media Officer Shekho Sophie, informed the participants on country measles-rubella update, elimination strategies and basic strategies operational plans for the campaign.
He also spoke on the objectives of the campaign communication plan. He briefed about the importance of advocacy with the stakeholders and social mobilization and on capacity building of community and media management.
MO of RBSK Dr. Shikatoli Achumi, talked on AEFI treatment and management during the campaign while Dr. Imsongienla stressed on organising vaccination sites including injection safety and waste management during the campaign.
The training was attended by principals, head teachers, administrators and teacher in-charge of government schools and private schools under Zunheboto Sadar.
