DIMAPUR — The two
cadres of NSCN/GPRN (Khango) who were allegedly involved in serving a demand
notice of INR 50 lakh to Aolemba Longkumer, a resident of 7th Mile in
Chümoukedima, on December 16, are still absconding.
It was reported that on December 16, two members of the
group came to the residence of Aolemba and demanded INR 50 lakh within two
days. The next day, on December 17, an FIR was filed at Chümoukedima Police
Station.
With regard to this incident, the coordination committee of
the Nagaland Tribal Youth Organisation issued a press statement condemning the
“shameless nature” of the group.
“This culture of threat and intimidation has no place in a
civilised society,” it asserted.
The committee urged the law enforcement agencies to book the
culprits at the earliest and ensure the security and safety of Aolemba
Longkumer, “as his right to personal life and liberty has been hampered by the
demand and threat notice.”
