Dimapur, Aug. 13 (EMN): The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment has reported that during 2019-20, National Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) had disbursed INR 1298.45 lakh for 1,293 beneficiaries in the Northeast India.
As many as1,250 persons belonging to target group were trained under NSFDC sponsored skill development training programmes in the North East region during 2019-20, it was informed. It added that skill development training programmes to train 630 persons (as on Dec. 31, 2020) belonging to target group have been sanctioned for the current financial year 2020-21 and INR 113.36 lakh disbursed for 65 beneficiaries.
During 2019-20, the National Safai Karamchari Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC) had disbursed INR 144 lakh to Nagaland and INR 370 to Tripura for 310 beneficiaries in the two states, it was informed.
The annual report by the department also maintained that during 2019-20, a total of 5950 persons belonging to the target group were trained under National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) sponsored skill development training programmes in the Northeast and for the current financial year 2020-21, skill development training programmes to train 1455 persons of the target group from the region have been sanctioned. The states included under the NBCFDC are Tripura, Manipur, Assam, and Sikkim.
