Kohima, Feb.9 (EMN): The department of Planning and Coordination during the budget session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly claimed that they had utilised INR 1248.74 lakh for acquiring 88.07 acres of land for various developmental work.
It stated that the government had no land of its own, and in
order to accelerate the pace of developmental activities, the government had to
acquire private lands and during the financial year of 2019-20, INR 1450 lakh
was made available under land compensation.
The developmental works were stated as follows:
- Acquisition of land for setting up of new polytechnic (institute) at Kiphire.
- Acquisition of land for a polytechnic institute at Renbo Li Tongti near Chubi Bridge in Wokha district.
- Acquisition of land at Kiphire for the office of the superintendent of Supply.
- Acquisition of land at Kiphire, Phek, Wokha and Zunheboto for 640 MT capacity godown.
- Realignment of NH-29 near KMC Dumping site below Jotsoma village and compensation thereof.
- Establishment of vehicle inspection and certification centre at Chumoukedima village, Dimapur.
- Acquisition of land for the project of rental housing for urban poor at Chumoukedima.
- Acquisition of land at Yimyu ward in Mokokchung town for Mokokchung College of Teachers’ Education (MCTE) site extension.
- Acquisition of additional land at Chiechama for setting up of Regional Response Centre (RRC) for Regional Emergency Management Training Centre.
- Acquisition of land for setting up of 3rd NAP platoon post under Mangkolemba in Mokokchung district.
- Purchase of readymade building for SDEO Kiphire in favour of the Department of School Education.“
The remaining balance amount of INR 200.25 lakh is also expected to be fully utilised,” it stated.
