DIMAPUR — The general manager of Kohima
District Industries Centre (DIC), Ahunle Tep, made a powerpoint presentation on
the Industries and Commerce department in Kohima district and also provided an
overview of the general administrative setup and the various schemes
implemented under DIC Kohima.
She made the powerpoint presentation during the monthly
meeting of Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held on
Tuesday at the DPDB Hall under the chairmanship of its vice chairman and deputy
commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant.
She stated that the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation
Programme (PMEGP) is a credit-linked subsidy scheme launched by the Government
of India to promote self-employment through the establishment of micro-enterprises.
She added that online applications could be submitted at www.kviconline.gov.in.
Ahunle also highlighted the PM formalisation of Micro Food
Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, which aims to enhance the
competitiveness of micro food processing enterprises. Under this scheme, pickle
production has been adopted in Kohima.
She further provided insights into various other schemes
including Chief Minister's Micro Finance Initiative, Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma
Kaushal Samman (PM VIKAS) scheme, Udyam registration and Uttar Poorva
Transformative Industrialisation scheme.
A DIPR report stated that the DC Ramnikant reviewed the
minutes of the previous meeting and welcomed a new board member namely the
district soil conservation officer, RenthungloTungoe.
The board also approved and forwarded the Ex-Servicemen
League Nagaland, Midland, Kohima, to the higher authorities for society
registration.
The Power department was entrusted to make a powerpoint
presentation in the next Kohima DPDB meeting.
In another programme, the Phek District Planning and
Development Board (DPDB) held its meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of
its chairmanand advisor of New and
Renewal Energy, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe.
Presenting the department activities, the deputy chief
veterinary officer, Dr. Esther Krocha, highlighted about their assigned jobs and
responsibilities on caring of animals for food production.
Activities of PWD (Housing) Phek division was presented by
junior engineer, Julia Kajiri, wherein he highlighted the government’s plans
for construction of new buildings in Phek division.
The advisor, Nyusietho Nyuthe, while commenting on the
initiatives taken by PWD (Housing) for construction of new buildings, stated
that it is high time for the people of Nagaland to realise the problem of
landownership, which according to him has been the main obstacle for
development in the state.
