Dimapur, April 3 (EMN): A two-week Induction Training Programme (ITP) for the newly recruited group B and C government employees under Mokokchung district began on April 3 at the Commissioner’s Guest House.
The induction training programme is being sponsored by the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India, and organised by the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima, in collaboration with District Administration, Mokokchung.
Speaking at the inaugural function as the guest of honour, secretary and Director of ATI, Lithrongla G Chishi, thanked the Mokokchung district administration for the sincerity and support rendered towards organising the programme.
Describing group “B & C” employees as the front face of the government, who deals directly with the people, she urged the trainees to take the training seriously to make a difference and bring about a change in the working system thereby bringing up the image of their own respective offices. She also maintained that all the government servants, including technical employees, need to go for such trainings in order to build-up capacity building and governance system.
“Unless you are in the system, you do not know whether you are doing good or not,” she added.
She reiterated that as an employee of the government, one needs to change the mindset by realising that we are not only a wage earner but a servant of the public. She, therefore, said ‘if we understand ourselves as a servant, then we are supposed to be more committed, dedicated and sincere in discharging our duties and responsibilities.’
The welcome address was delivered by Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel, while the introduction to the programme was presented by ADC & Nodal Officer for ITP Mokokchung District, Sachin Jaiswal. The programme was chaired by SDO (C) Lemlila T Sangtam.
